Introduction

Zhalainuoer Mammoth Park is a large-scale theme park that combines leisure, entertainment, and tourism with the theme of Zhalainuoer "Mammoth Hometown" culture. The park is located north of the 301 National Road in Zhalainuoer District, Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia. It is adjacent to Manzhouli, China's largest land port, and is about 20 kilometers away from attractions such as Dalai Lake, the national border, and the Matryoshka Square. The park covers an area of one million square meters. The area displaying the group of prehistoric animal sculptures covers an area of 790,000 square meters, with a total of 93 prehistoric animal sculptures, including 87 mammoths, three rhinoceroses, one giant deer, and two sabre-toothed tigers. The largest mammoth statue is as high as 15.77 meters. In addition, the park also has nine amusement facilities such as a golden dragon lake and artificial waterfall landscape, eco-agricultural and fishery park, Ferris wheel, carousel, bumper car, self-spinning cart, observation tower, car chasing area, children's science and technology museum, square, prehistoric fossil art wall, and steam locomotive cultural park. From 1980 to the spring of 1984, three mammoth prehistoric fossils were unearthed in the Zhalainuoer District open-pit mine. Among them, one discovered in July 1980 is the largest known fossil specimen of ancient elephants in China to date, which is rare in history. Zhalainuoer is thus known as the "homeland of mammoths."
