Introduction

Heishantou Town is located southwest of Ergun City, about 60 kilometers away. It faces the Russian Primorsky Region, with the Ergun River playing a role in isolation between the two areas. Heishantou Town covers an area of 1065.68 square kilometers, with a border length of 130 kilometers. The length of the Sino-Russian water boundary is up to 86.7 kilometers. Since the signing of the "Sino-Russian Treaty of Nerchinsk" in 1689, the Qing government has set up outposts along the Ergun River, including Sanka, Sika, Wuka, and Liuka, all within Heishantou Town. The town is mainly inhabited by mixed-race people of Chinese and Russian descent and ethnic Russians, with the Han population being the majority. The main traffic artery is the Labudalin-Heishantou Highway. In 1989, the State Council approved Heishantou Town as a national first-class land port.
