Introduction

The Arctic Sandbank was formed by the largest flood in the history of the Arctic Village in 1958, when the water depth reached more than 190 meters and the entire village was submerged. After the flood, the direction of many rivers changed, and the sandbank was formed accordingly. Today, the surface of the sandbank is still made up of a large amount of fine sand, because the lighter black soil was washed away by the flood, leaving behind the fine sand. There are multiple attractions within the sandbank, including the Rare Animal Spectrum, Body Testing Gate, Oroqen Spring Altar, Pictogram "North" Character Sculpture, the Northernmost Point, the Seven Star Altar, the Xuanwu Altar, and so on, with rest pavilions along the way. The location of the scenic area is extremely northern, and the 138th border milestone is located within the area.
