Introduction
The Hailaer National Forest Park (formerly known as Hailaer Xishan Scenic Area) located on the Xishan Mountain in Hailaer District, Hulunbuir City, is the only national forest park in China that mainly consists of Korean pine trees. It is divided into South Park, North Park, West Park, and Reserve Resource Area. The South Park has rich cultural and historical relics, including cultural sites from the Northern Grassland Stone Tool period thousands of years ago and the remains of Japanese invasion fortifications. The park has also developed various scenic spots such as folk culture park restaurants, Hailaer exhibition hall, botanical garden, and zoo. The North Park is the largest of the three parks, famous for preserving natural Korean pine trees and charming white sand beaches, and has also developed a free-range wildlife park. The West Park mainly features wetlands, home to a large number of water birds and the China-Japan Friendship Forest. The Reserve Resource Area includes the mother tree forest seed collection area, protective forest construction area, demonstration area for forestry and grass planting, desert control area, wetland protection area, and nursery and scientific research area, and is a natural forest oxygen bar. Standing on the celebrity peak overlooking the vast forest and listening to the sound of the pine trees shows the beauty of the natural scenery in North China.
