The Most Beautiful Snowscape Photography Guide in Arxan

Arshan is a lush natural oxygen bar, an unknown "world-class beauty". Arshan has a unique and beautiful winter, this winter, let's go to Arshan to see the snow together!

Aershan Bailang Peak Scenic Area

Bailang Peak has a highest altitude of 1511 meters. The peak's nearly 200 hectares of periglacial stone sea forms a natural viewing platform for the scenic area. The scenic area is centered around Bailang Peak and Tao'er River National Wetland Park, combining periglacial stone sea, primeval forest, wetland ice and snow, rivers and lakes, and ice and snow resources with wolf path culture and forest customs culture to create tourism products. It consists of attractions such as birch forest, periglacial stone sea, sightseeing and wishing at the peak of Xing'an, Mongolian wolf forest homestay, Tao'er River rafting experience, wetland wildlife, wetland science education museum, secluded Tao'er hotel, self-driving camp, sika deer park, rime, and Xing'an sunrise viewing. If you are lucky, you might capture a photo of the golden sunlight on Bailang Peak.

Bailangou Film Base

This place is rarely visited, with deep snow and slippery roads in winter. Bailangou Film Base is located in the Bailang Peak Scenic Area of Arxan City. The TV series 'The Great Forest' was filmed here, and the scenes from that time are still preserved.
Arxan National Forest Park is nestled in the vast sea of forests of the Greater Khingan Range. The park features the main peak of the Greater Khingan Range, Mount Termei (elevation 1378 meters), and the largest lake in the Greater Khingan Range, Lake Dalbin. It also boasts the Stone Forest and Tianchi, formed by lava flows from volcanic eruptions. Its unique mineral springs are renowned as 'miraculous springs of the world.' The park is home to the highest peak, Mount Termei, and the largest lake in the Greater Khingan Range.

Tuofengling Tianchi

Aershan has two Tianchi (Heavenly Pools). One is called Aershan Tianchi, which is relatively close to the visitor center; the other is Tuofengling Tianchi, which is farther away and thus receives fewer visitors. This place is known for its beautiful legends and tranquil atmosphere, offering a different experience compared to Aershan Tianchi. With fewer tourists, it often features the spectacular sight of rime ice in winter, making the scenery exceptionally beautiful.

Unfrozen River

The Unfrozen River is a section of the Halaha River located 74 kilometers from Wenquan Street in Arxan City. This river never freezes in the severe winter, which is quite astonishing. The Unfrozen River stretches about 20 kilometers from the Santan Gorge to the vicinity of the Jinjianggou Forest Farm. The river water does not freeze in winter and flows naturally. In the harsh winter season with temperatures dropping to -30°C, while all other rivers and streams in the city are frozen, this section of the river remains steaming with hot water and flowing smoothly. Even during the coldest days, green aquatic plants grow in the water, and mist rises from the river surface, reflecting the afterglow of the sunset, creating a spectacular scene like colorful clouds. The Unfrozen River is formed due to the exchange of heat between the river water and geothermal energy.

Tongxin Tianchi

Tianchi is located on Tianchi Ridge, 74 kilometers northeast of Arshan, at an altitude of 1332.3 meters, with 484 steps. In terms of altitude, it ranks third in the country, following Tianchi of Bogda Peak in the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang and Tianchi of Baekdu Mountain in Jilin Province. Tianchi is 450 meters long from east to west and 300 meters wide from north to south. Viewed from the air, it resembles a water droplet, more like a piece of crystal-clear jade embedded in the majestic and beautiful, lush green mountains. Like Hump Ridge Tianchi, it was also formed by water accumulation after a volcanic eruption. Its first wonder is that it does not dry up during long droughts, nor does it overflow during prolonged rains, and its water level remains unchanged for many years. The second wonder is that Tianchi's water is incredibly clean despite having no rivers flowing in or out. The third wonder is that while the nearby Sister Lake is rich in fresh fish, Tianchi has no fish. The fourth wonder is its unfathomable depth, with some humorously suggesting that it connects to the Earth's core. However, these mysteries do not detract from Tianchi's beauty. The water is as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the green pines and cypresses, blue sky, and white clouds, creating a myriad of picturesque scenes. Every spring and summer, the mountain's water vapor condenses, creating a misty and foggy atmosphere. Thin mist surrounds the mountain peaks, with white clouds sometimes rising along the mountains and sometimes rolling down. The lush pines and birches encircle the lake, their greenery shimmering, forming Tianchi's unique natural landscape.
