Longyangxia is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River in Gonghe County, Qinghai Province. After flowing through the Qinghai grassland, the Yellow River enters the narrow gorge of Longyangxia. The gorge is only 30 meters wide, with hard granite walls that reach a height of nearly 200 meters, making it a treasure trove for dam construction. Spanning a total of 1684 kilometers from the source of the Yellow River to its estuary, Longyangxia is the first large-scale cascading power station on the upper reaches of the Yellow River, and is called the "head" power station of the Yellow River.

Longyangxia Resort Scenic Area

Qinghai Longyangxia Ecotourism Resort is located in Longyangxia Town, Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The planned area of the resort is 870 square kilometers. It is located on both sides of the main Yellow River between the Yangqu Power Station and the Laxiwa Hydropower Station upstream of the Yellow River. The core area of the resort is in Longyangxia Town, 48 kilometers from the capital of Hainan Prefecture, Chaobucha, and 147 kilometers from the provincial capital, Xining. It is a plateau leisure and health resort that combines canyon sightseeing, cultural experience, water entertainment, desert exploration, extreme challenges, waterfront vacations, and hot spring health.
