Introduction

The famous monastery in Lhasa, "Longwu Dalfalunzhou," was originally a Sakya sect temple, with a small temple built in the fifth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1310). In the early Ming Dynasty, it was created by San Dan Renqin and gradually expanded in size. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, it was changed to the Gelug sect and a large sutra hall was built. In 1625, the emperor bestowed the title "Western Region's Best Scenery" on a plaque that hung over the entrance to the sutra hall. The main buildings now include the Large Sutra Hall, the Meditation Hall, the Summer Warehouse Hall, the Guanyin Hall, the Tian Nu Hall, the Wenshu Hall, the Seventh Summer Warehouse Pagoda, the Esoteric Buddhist Temple, and the Kalachakra Temple, with more than 20 buildings, of which 8 are pagodas. The temple is built into the mountains, with a grand and magnificent atmosphere. The Large Sutra Hall is located at the center of the temple, and contains dozens of Buddha statues, including Shakyamuni Buddha, exquisitely crafted and awe-inspiring. The statue of Master Tsongkhapa is 11 meters tall and has a base circumference of 26 meters, covered in gold and decorated with precious gems. The temple also houses precious cultural relics such as the golden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha given to the Ming dynasty by the emperor, as well as tens of thousands of Buddhist scriptures, including precious versions of "Ganzhu'er" and "Dan Zhu'er" from the Dege Printing House. At the same time, there are two ancient steles that have been classified as national and provincial cultural relics. Address Longwu Town, Tongren County, Qinghai Province
