Introduction
The Juyan Lake is located in the northern part of Ejina Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has a narrow and winding crescent shape, and the Ejina River is its main source of water. According to the "Shuijingzhu", its Hun language name is "Ruoshi Liusha", in the Han Dynasty it was called "Juyan Ze", in the Wei and Jin Dynasties it was called "West Sea", since the Tang Dynasty it has been called "Juyan Lake", and now it is also called "Swan Lake".
Juyan Lake has attracted many celebrities in history, such as Huo Qubing and Zhang Qian in the Han Dynasty, and Wang Wei, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, all leaving their marks here.
Juyan Lake was once vast and boundless, and was one of the largest lakes in northwest China. It is composed of Dong Juyan Lake (Subonao'er), Xi Juyan Lake (Gashunnao'er), and other lakes. Nowadays, the Juyan Lake that tourists visit refers to Dong Juyan Lake (Subonao'er), while other lakes have dried up (Xi Juyan Lake has started to recover its water surface in recent years, benefiting from water replenishment). Transportation Juyan Lake is located about 50 kilometers north of Dalaihubu Town, the seat of Eqianqi Banner government. There is currently no direct public transportation to the scenic area. If you want to visit the area, it is recommended to charter a car or join a local travel agency.
