Introduction
The Foziling Reservoir is a large valley reservoir located on the upper reaches of the Pi River, 17 kilometers south of Huoshan County, western Anhui Province, in the Huai River Basin. It was constructed between 1952 and 1954. The reservoir dam is 510 meters long and over 70 meters high, and is a concrete arch dam with seismic resistance. There are eight spillway gates and two irrigation gates on the dam, as well as a hydropower station. The installed capacity of the power station is 31,000 kilowatts, and the annual electricity generation is 93.5 million kilowatt-hours. The reservoir has a catchment area of about 1,840 square kilometers and can impound 500 million cubic meters of floodwater. The generated electricity is mainly transmitted to cities such as Lu'an and Hefei. Due to abundant precipitation in the mountainous area, there is often flooding in the summer and autumn seasons, which could pose a threat to downstream areas. Therefore, the reservoir intercepts a large amount of floodwater, ensuring the safety of downstream cities. Address Huoshan County, Lu'an City, Anhui Province
