Departing from Wuhan, embrace nature with a two-hour self-driving journey

Late spring and early summer, with a gentle breeze, if you don't go out for a stroll, you will miss out on the sense of ritual for a short holiday; going on a trip, many people still have some concerns in their hearts. Although we cannot travel long distances as usual this year, a one or two-day self-driving tour around Wuhan or finding a suburban park for a picnic and spring outing in the city can also be a delightful and relaxing experience. Here are a few recommended places for a family outing, away from crowds and close to nature!

May is the season when wheat is ripe. The rice fields of Yuanfu at this time (maybe we should temporarily call it Yuanfu wheat field) are particularly lovely. Countless wheat spikes reach up to the sky, as if basking in the sunshine. There is no typical tourist scenery, only boundless golden waves of wheat and the lingering fragrance of wheat surrounding the body. It feels like returning to childhood, walking freely and joyfully on the village field path.

Seasonal flower fields of Ying Mountain

No matter what season you come here, you can see flowers blooming all over the mountains. The roses and azaleas are in full bloom in this season, and the Tibetan flowers and sunflowers are also smiling under the sunshine. There are hotels inside and outside the scenic area. It is recommended to stay at the Yuxinyuan Wild Luxury Hotel in the scenic area. Each room in the hotel is a separate round rammed earth cottage, built against the mountain, like a bird's nest, hidden among the flowers. With windows on all sides, the view is good and the environment is tranquil. Enjoy the sea of flowers during the day and listen to the insects chirping at night.

Wei Shui Car Camping Site

Who hasn't fantasized about living in a treehouse as a child? At the Weishui Car Camping Base, the childhood dream finally comes true. The treehouse with a slide is perfect for staying with children. The campsite offers treehouses, wooden cabins, luxurious wild tents, star-gazing tents, and RV garden hotels, as well as small camping tents. Families, gatherings, and couples can choose the room type that suits them best. The rooms are fully equipped, allowing guests to be close to nature while enjoying the convenience of modern living. Falling asleep under the starlight and waking up to the sound of birds, spending a night here feels like returning to a fairytale dream.
The largest homestay estate near Wuhan. There are regular single rooms, suite single rooms, and separate villas, where you can choose the suitable room type according to the number of people on vacation. The homestay follows a five-star standard in terms of design style and comfort, and all toiletries are from L'Occitane. Each accommodation area has a spacious lawn for children to run freely. There is a unique bookstore called "Taohua Inn" with a strong sense of design. With its spacious and round dome resembling a church, books hanging in mid-air, and children sitting on linen lazy sofas, it creates an ideal afternoon of reading together, accompanied by the green willows outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Fuhe Wetland

Fuhe Wetland is almost completely ecologically intact. There are no public facilities, only untamed and unconstructed lawns filled with lush green grass. The passing planes seem within reach, and herds of horses and groups of birds roam freely without fear of humans. Adults barbecue and picnic, while children joyfully run and enjoy the freedom like the wind. With no one around, you can take off your mask and take in deep breaths of the fresh wild air.

Tanghu Park

The Tang Lake is not very big, but it has a wide and sparkling surface. Compared to the grand atmosphere of the East Lake, Tang Lake has a more delicate and beautiful feeling. There is also Wuhan's first hidden "most beautiful library" located in the park. The library is surrounded by water on three sides, with lush surroundings, giving it a sense of a literary sanctuary. The park also has an art gallery and theater, both of which are free of charge. Compared to other parks, it has a small artistic touch.

Houguan Lake

The wetland park is 80% covered by lake water. You can take a walk on the water-side boardwalk or go boating on the lake to enjoy the coolness of the water up close. The most classic activity in Hougou Lake is lakeside barbecues. You don't need to bring your own barbecue tools, as the owner of a barbecue restaurant will help deliver food and tools on an electric tricycle.

Canglong Island Wetland Park

Photo holy land, with reeds, lakes, forests, lawns, and trails, any shot can be stunning. Riding a bike or scooter along the lake greenway, feeling the breeze brushing through the hair, it's a great time if there are no worries.
