Introduction
Zashun Lhunpo Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in the Shigatse area of Tibet, with two names "Ji Xiang Xu Mi Temple" and "Ji Xiang Xu Mi Ju Fu Shu Sheng Zhu Fang Zhou". It is located on the east slope of Nima Mountain in the west of Shigatse City, covering an area of about 150,000 square meters, with a winding palace wall with a total length of more than 3,000 meters. The buildings in the monastery are distributed in a terraced shape, with 57 halls and 3,600 rooms, and the overall architectural style is extraordinary. Additionally, Zashun Lhunpo Monastery is also the residence of the Panchen Lama, and is considered to be one of the important Gelugpa monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the "four great monasteries" of the Gelugpa sect along with Ganden Monastery, Sera Monastery, and Drepung Monastery in Lhasa, and is listed as one of the "six great monasteries" of the Gelugpa sect along with Ta'er Temple in Qinghai and Labrang Monastery in Gansu. On March 4th, 1961, Zashun Lhunpo Monastery was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit.
