Introduction

Sabah Museum is located on the site of the former British colonial government mansion and was inaugurated in 1985. The museum complex includes the main building, Science and Education Centre, Cultural Village, Sabah Art Gallery, and the Islamic Civilization Museum. The main building is designed in the style of a longhouse, with protruding beams resembling dancing Sumazau dancers. It is a unique architectural feature. If you want to delve into the rich history, culture, and natural history of Sabah, this is the perfect place. Additionally, the nearby Cultural Village is also interesting, mimicking the traditional dwellings of various indigenous communities in Sabah. Many houses have been constructed, allowing visitors to enter each room and explore the way of life inside. It provides an authentic experience of using tools and other real-life scenarios.
