The Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is a contemporary Islamic architecture located by Likas Bay in Kota Kinabalu. It is the largest mosque in the city and one of the most magnificent mosques in Malaysia. The mosque, completed in 1997, covers an area of one hectare and can accommodate 9,720-12,000 worshippers. Its stunning white structure, built by the lake, blends perfectly with the blue sky, giving the impression of floating on the water. Therefore, it is also known as the "Water Mosque," similar to the famous Nabawi Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Many travelers choose this mosque as an ideal place to watch the sunset due to its solemn and peaceful appearance.

Located prominently in the city, not far from the Sabah State Museum, this building was built in 1977 and combines modern architectural art with Islamic Islamic style, with a domed golden dome that forms a beautiful pattern. The main hall on the ground floor can accommodate about 5,000 worshipers and is worth a visit, just a few minutes' walk from the State Museum.

Tanjung Aru Beach is undoubtedly one of the most popular iconic spots in the capital city for both locals and tourists. "Aru" refers to casuarina trees, so it's no surprise that there are numerous casuarina trees towering here, providing a picturesque stroll under their shade with the beautiful view of the sea. It is a beautiful beach resort area with many upscale hotels and some great restaurants. The coastline is long, allowing you to surf, snorkel, or sunbathe on the soft sandy beach with your family. It offers stunning sunrise and sunset views, and you can come to the beach in the evening to enjoy the magnificent and peaceful sunset. There are affordable drink and snack stalls nearby where you can sip on juice cocktails while admiring the exquisite sunset.

KAWA mangrove forest is one of the three major mangrove forest routes in Kota Kinabalu (the other two are Klias mangrove forest and Weston mangrove forest), known for its mudflat sunset. Many agents in Kota Kinabalu offer day trips to the mangrove forest, where you can also enjoy the sunset, spot proboscis monkeys, and observe fireflies at night. KAWA was developed later than Klias, and its original ecological state is relatively well-preserved, with a relatively larger number of fireflies.
