Yantaishan is magnificent and picturesque, with an altitude of 587 meters, making it the highest peak in the western part of Shenzhen. During the Anti-Japanese War, the local people and the Dongjiang Column staged a stunning "Great Rescue" that shocked both China and foreign countries, rescuing famous patriots such as Mao Dun, He Xiangning, and Zou Taofen from the occupied Guanghai-Jiu Island.
