Introduction
Akbar the Great was the third emperor of the Mughal Empire, known for his administrative and military achievements, alongside Ashoka the Great of the Maurya Dynasty. It is said that Akbar designed and personally supervised the construction of his tomb, which was ultimately completed by his son Jahangir in 1613. The tomb showcases a blend of Muslim and Hindu architectural styles, with red sandstone being the primary building material. The grand entrance is adorned with four white marble minarets, creating a perfectly symmetrical structure. A large garden surrounds the main mausoleum, featuring a different style compared to the garden at Humayun's Tomb. The four-tiered structure is primarily made of red sandstone, with the actual cenotaph placed in the topmost marble pavilion. In reality, Akbar's body is interred in a subterranean chamber beneath the tomb. Address Akbar's tomb and mausoleum, Baipur Road, UMA KUNJ, Sikandra, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, 282007, India
