China-Pakistan International Highway
The China-Pakistan International Highway is a road that connects western China with Pakistan. Starting from Kashgar in Xinjiang, it traverses the Kunlun Mountains and the Pamir Plateau to reach Pakistan. The scenery along this highway is unique, and its significance is even more special.
Muztagh Ata
Muztagh Ata is known as the 'Father of Ice Mountains' and is considered a sacred mountain by the local people. It is a place that every climbing enthusiast dreams of reaching. For regular tourists, simply standing by Karakul Lake and gazing at its beauty is more than enough.
Baisha Mountain and Liusha River
On the way from the Khunjerab Pass, after passing the Ghez border checkpoint, continue along National Highway 314 on the Pamir Plateau. There is a beautiful place here, which is the reflection of the sand mountain—Baisha Mountain and Liusha River. Some say that this is the place of the White Sand Mountain and Flowing Sand River where Sha Wujing (Sand Monk) from 'Journey to the West' resided. This naturally formed landscape over thousands of years leaves people with endless reverie and imagination.
Tahman Township
The Tahman Wetland Park, located several tens of kilometers away from Tashkurgan, is a must-pass place when entering Tashkurgan County. In Tajik, Tahman means 'surrounded by mountains on all sides,' and locals refer to it as the 'land of divine flower propagation.' It is the largest basin, the largest grassland, and the largest golden pasture in Tashkurgan.
Alar Golden Grassland Folk Park
Alar Golden Grassland is located at the edge of Tashkurgan County, under the Stone City. It is named after a village called Alar Golden Grassland. The Tashkurgan River flows through here, making the area lush with water and grass, and cattle and sheep are everywhere. It merges beautifully with the distant snow-capped mountains and blue sky. Every time the sun sets, the green grassland turns golden, and the distant white yurts of the herdsmen and the sheep bathed in the sunset create a very beautiful scene. This is the origin of the Golden Grassland.
Stone City
Located on the north side of Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, at an altitude of 3100 meters. Tashkurgan means Stone City in Turkic, and it is a famous ancient city ruin on the ancient Silk Road within Xinjiang.
