Introduction

A white temple with a pointed roof, the Phasi Deval temple is built on a six-tiered red brick platform and is dedicated to the god Shiva. The stairs of the temple are adorned with statues of elephants, lions, and bulls, giving it a unique character. During the Bhaktapur festival, the square in front of the temple is a popular gathering place, bustling with activity. From the top of the temple, one can enjoy stunning views. On April 25, 2015, Nepal experienced a devastating 8.1 magnitude earthquake, causing significant damage to the Phasi Deval temple, with the top collapsing, but some sculptures on the base still preserved.
