Introduction

Located 4 kilometers north of Budhanilkantha and 18 kilometers east of Kathmandu, at an altitude of 1541 meters, this temple is dedicated to the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Narayan. It is one of the most important Hindu temples in the Kathmandu Valley. The temple was originally built in the 4th century and was reconstructed after a fire in 1702. Due to its distance from Kathmandu, it is frequented less by tourists, making it a tranquil place. The temple has a double-roof structure, with lion, griffin, and elephant statues as decoration at the four entrances. There are also intricate carvings of deities on the eaves. On the west side of the temple, there is a statue of the golden-winged Garuda. There are many other temples and statues around the temple.
