Introduction
The Durbar Square in Kathmandu is more spacious than the Durbar Square in Patan. There is a large golden gate and 55 intricately carved wooden windows in the old palace, which are very eye-catching. Every morning from 6-7 am, there is a morning market on the square, which is the busiest time. Local people come here to buy daily necessities and enjoy cheap masala tea. However, the square suffered severe damage in the 8.1 magnitude earthquake in Nepal on April 25, 2015, with some buildings collapsing.
