Introduction

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is located southwest of the city center of Kota Kinabalu, about 15-25 kilometers away. Visitors can easily reach the park via the old Papar-Penampang road or the Putatan-Papar road. The park is divided into two sections: the zoo and the botanical garden. In the botanical garden section, visitors can follow a 1.4-kilometer trail to explore the development history of botany and venture into the rainforest. Currently, half of the trail is open to visitors. The zoo section showcases various species of big cats, such as clouded leopards, civets, and tigers, as well as orangutans and proboscis monkeys. Additionally, the Bird Sanctuary is a Jurassic Park-like attraction where visitors can observe the flight of different bird species.
