Introduction

Yunlong Rift is a rare U-shaped rift in the world, the unique feature of which is that its two banks have different geological ages. The total length of the rift is about 3,600 meters with an average depth of about 75 meters, and it is currently open for visitors to explore an area of about 1.6 kilometers. The scenic spots include the Yunlong Cliff, Wind and Rain Bridge, Space-time Bridge, Yunlong Waterfall, and Falling Water, with steep cliffs on both sides, hanging waterfalls, and flowing water at the bottom of the rift, forming a unique karst landscape. Research has shown that Yunlong Rift was once the underground segment of the Yunlong River, flowing underground as a subterranean river for two or three million years. With the underground and surface erosion, the top of the subterranean river collapsed and was exposed to the surface, becoming a magnificent scenic spot in the Enshi Grand Canyon. On the rift, there are seven semi-waterfalls, among which the Rainbow Waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the rift because it is the first waterfall to be illuminated by sunlight. Whenever the sunlight shines on it, two or three beautiful rainbows appear around the waterfall, making it even more magnificent and charming.
