Introduction

Qianyang Ancient Town, located in the Guocheng Community of Qiancheng Town, the seat of the government of Hongjiang City, is one of the best preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient towns in China. The ancient town is surrounded by the Yuan River and is a key border town of the Xiang-Chu Miao area. It is known as the "gateway of Yunnan and Guizhou" and the "number one ancient town of western Hunan" due to its rich history and unique cultural atmosphere. The history of Qianyang Ancient Town can be traced back 1,400 years earlier than the ancient town of Dali in Yunnan and 900 years earlier than the ancient town of Fenghuang in Hunan. Here, various cultures have blended together, leaving behind rich and colorful historical and cultural heritage.
