Introduction

Tairuzhuang Canal is 42.5 kilometers long and is a curved section of the Grand Canal. Due to the large drop in the river, there are eight boat locks. This waterway often has north-south ships waiting here to pass the locks, which has made Tairuzhuang a rapidly developing transportation hub and commercial center. The ancient street is well preserved and has a strong sense of life, giving people a feeling of traveling through time and space. The World Tourism Organization considers it the only preserved cultural heritage of the Qing Dynasty in the Grand Canal and is known as the "living canal". At night, there are fishing lights on the river and singing that can be heard from miles away. Merchants shuttle between the markets, and the prosperous scene is not to be missed.
