It was built in the ninth year of the Wanli period (1581) by the monk Bianrong from Western Sichuan and was originally named Qianfo Temple. The lower level of the temple's back building is the Nianfo Hall, and the upper level is the Qianfo Ge. Inside the Qianfo Ge, there is an ancient bronze Buddha cast in the Ming Dynasty called "The Thousand Buddhas of the Lianhua Precious Lotus of the Vairocana Tathagata".
