Introduction

Xitai sits on the top of Fenghuang Mountain in Xixian County, Shanxi Province. It was established during the Ming Dynasty's Chongzhen period in 1629 and has a history of over 380 years. It is a key cultural heritage site in China. Originally named "Qianfota", it was named after the thousand Buddha statues in the Hall of Great Heroism. Later, it was renamed "Xiaoxiatai" because of the inscription on the gate that reads "Entering the Western Paradise," reflecting the Buddhist concept of the Western Paradise.
