Introduction

The Xuejiazhai Scenic Area is located at the southern end of the Qiaoshan Mountain range, with an elevation of over 1600 meters and the highest point being Arrow Piercing Cliff. The peaks here are steep and the forests are verdant, with cliffs and steep terrain in the central area, and the height of the ridges reaches over 400 meters. The negative oxygen ion level in the scenic area is extremely high, with 20,000 per cubic centimeter, making it a great place for lung nourishment and relaxation. Xuejiazhai was named after Xue Gang stationed and practiced dance here in the late Tang Dynasty. It is a national level Danxia Geological Park, and the painting "Traveling in the Stream and Mountains" by Fan Kuan during the Northern Song Dynasty was created from the original scenery here and is now housed in the National Palace Museum in Taipei as a precious treasure. There are four naturally formed caves in the village, and due to the steep terrain, it was difficult to attack and has become the political and military center of the 26th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, as well as the base of the Red Army guerrilla.
