Introduction

Ramlaco is a small crescent-shaped mountain lake with an area of only 2 square kilometers. It is located in the QukogJie Mountains, 65 kilometers northeast of Gacha County. According to Tibetan Buddhism beliefs, Ramlaco has magical power. The reincarnated souls of past Dalai Lamas and Panchen Lamas come to observe the scenery in the lake. Legend has it that one can see their past and present lives in the lake. This has attracted many Tibetan Buddhist believers to come here, even at great effort, to find their past, present, and future lives.

The best time to travel is generally between May and October. However, roads may be closed due to heavy snow during the winter.
Transportation
To get to Lamlacuo, you first need to reach Gacha County, which is 128km away from Zedang. The Gacha County bus station has buses to Gacha County every day at 8:00 am. From there, take a shuttle bus to Cuijiu Township for 60 yuan/person. After passing by Qiongguojie Temple, there is still a 15km journey to Lamlacuo, which takes about 5 hours on foot. During the peak season for harvesting cordyceps in spring and summer, there are buses from Gacha County to Lamlacuo; during non-cordyceps seasons, you can only charter a car from Gacha County. The dirt road leads all the way to the foot of the mountain pass overlooking Lamlacuo, and the stone steps from the foot of the mountain to the mountain pass take about 20-30 minutes on foot.
