Introduction

Liaoyang Museum is a local history and art museum with rich local characteristics, aimed at collecting, researching and displaying the city's cultural relics and historical materials. It is currently located on the site of the Pengxian Villa during the rule of the Fengtian warlord, covering an area of over 20,000 square meters, with a building area of nearly 3,000 square meters. It adopts the architectural design of the Qing dynasty royal palace, which is solemn and elegant. The museum is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit, constantly improving its collection of cultural relics through archaeological excavations, collection and acquisition. Its basic display showcases the local history of over 2,000 years, from the Spring and Autumn period to the end of the Qing dynasty, integrating the unique charm of cultural relics from various historical periods. Among them, the fossilized skull of the Mei family rhinoceros, cultural relics from Han and Wei tombs, Ming dynasty murals, and calligraphy works of the Qing dynasty literati Wang Erlie, are all in different forms and have their own charm. These exhibits not only showcase the long history of Liaoyang, but also represent its rich and colorful culture. The museum is a patriotic education base in the city and an important window for the construction of spiritual civilization.
