Introduction

Balang Mountain is located in the east of Xiaojin County and adjacent to Xiaojin, Wenchuan, and Baoxing counties. It is about 200 kilometers away from Chengdu. With an altitude of 5040 meters, Balang Mountain means "sacred willow mountain" in Tibetan. The mountain above 4000 meters in the scenic area is eroded by weathering, forming steep peaks and exposed rocks, as well as landscapes composed of debris slopes and stone piles. One of the most dangerous roads in Aba Prefecture runs along the mountain waist, while the grassland above 3500 meters is full of wildflowers and free-ranging cattle and sheep. From the top, the winding gorge contains magnificent scenery. The classic Balang Mountain sea of clouds and passing clouds are breathtaking, while towering peaks, blue sky, white clouds, and dense primitive forests reflect each other, creating a mythical beauty. Watching the sunrise and sea of clouds, one can choose the Balang Mountain pass at an altitude of 4500 meters, where one can enjoy the plateau landscape and the thrilling excitement of self-driving. In the local legend, Balang Mountain is the father of four girls, with its main peak at an altitude of 5040 meters, and the pass at an altitude of 4523 meters is one of China's famous kilometer passes.
