Qingcheng Mountain, located in the western part of Dujiangyan City, is one of the birthplaces of Taoism and the ancestral home of the Zhengyi Sect. It is known as "Qingcheng, the Most Secluded Place in the World". Qingcheng Mountain is divided into two scenic areas: the front mountain and the back mountain. The front mountain is relatively small with many palaces and temples, and can be explored in half a day. After entering the gate of Qingcheng Mountain, it takes a 15-minute walk to reach Yuechen Lake. If you want to take the cable car, you must first take a boat across Yuechen Lake, which costs 5 yuan for the boat ticket, and then take the cable car (round trip 50 yuan, one way 30 yuan). After reaching the top, you can visit Shangqing Palace, and then proceed further to reach Laojun Pavilion. The back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain is larger in area, secluded and elegant, and preserves a relatively primitive appearance. It takes a whole day to explore, starting from Taian Temple at the foot of the back mountain and reaching Baiyun Temple at the mountain top, which takes at least two hours. It is best to start climbing before noon. If time runs late, you can stay in Youyi Village at two-thirds of the way. Most tourists visit the front mountain, while the back mountain is more suitable for climbing enthusiasts.
