Introduction

The first challenge on the trek to Motuo is the Daxiongla Mountain, which is about 4,500 meters high and located near the snow line. From there, you can enjoy the view of snow and trickling streams. The terrain of the Daxiongla Mountain is rugged with many rocks, which leads to snow avalanches of varying sizes during winter each year. Moreover, the mountain is often shrouded in clouds and fog, which makes it even more dangerous in winter when heavy snowfall can close the mountain. Additionally, the Daxiongla Mountain is extremely cold, with temperatures similar to those found at the base camp of Mount Everest, and it is rare to see sunshine throughout the year. After crossing the Daxiongla Mountain, you only need to hike down a slope to reach Motuo, which attracts numerous tourists every year.
