Introduction

Mount Kailash is recognized as a sacred mountain by the world, and is considered one of the centers of the world by the Tibetan Bon religion, Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and the ancient Guge Kingdom. As the main peak of the Gangdise Mountains in China, Mount Kailash is one of the top ten most beautiful and breathtaking mountains in China. The reason why this mount is so mysterious is that its sunny side is covered with snow all year round, while the shady side remains snowless throughout the year. Even if the shady side is covered in white snow, it quickly melts as soon as the sun rises, which is exactly the opposite of the common natural phenomenon. This fills people with religious devotion and wonder. Mount Kailash has both majestic and solemn scenery, as well as quiet and secluded places with many strange peaks, valleys, ancient forests of cypress trees, and clear streams around it. Mount Kailash is often surrounded by white clouds, making it difficult to see its true appearance, but the peak is covered with snow all year round, which is visually and spiritually stunning. There are five temples around Mount Kailash, including Nianri Temple as the first stop for circumambulation, followed by Zhada Temple, Songcuo Temple (also known as Huanyuan Temple), Jiangzha Temple, and Sailong Temple.
