Introduction

Shanjian Miao Village, also known as Zongbing Camp, is a small mountain village full of Miao ethnic features. In Miao language, Shanjian is called "Bagu", which means toad cave, because there is a cave nearby with many toads, hence the name. During the Qing Dynasty's repression of the Miao uprising, a Zongbing Camp was established here. After liberation, Shanjian Reservoir was built, so the Miao village was no longer short of water, and many people came to enjoy the scenery. Therefore, "Bagu" was renamed "Shanjian", and the administrative district name was also changed accordingly. Shanjian still maintains ancient Miao traditional customs. The dazzling Miao costumes, the special door-blocking wine, and the unique Ka drum, blocking road songs, and border fields are all fascinating. In addition, the traditional festival "April 8" moon and flower dance, and the "June 6" mountain song duet are even more exciting and worthy of admiration.
