Introduction

The only Southern Great Wall, also known as the Miaojiang Border Wall, began construction in the 33rd year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1554 AD) and has undergone multiple renovations. Unlike the majestic Northern Great Wall, the Southern Great Wall is more elegant but its solid walls should not be underestimated. Visitors to the scenic area must walk around the wall for about 40 minutes, enjoying the pleasant scenery from the top. However, due to poor maintenance, the Great Wall now looks somewhat outdated. On the Great Wall, people have built the world's largest Go board. Since 2003, the five Sino-Korean Go tournaments have been held here. If you do not have enough time or physical strength, you can choose not to visit and instead enjoy the beautiful view of the Southern Great Wall from Fenghuang by car.

Transportation

1. Take a minibus heading towards "Alaying" from Tuqiaolong Bus Station (West Station) in Fenghuang County and get off at Nanfang Great Wall Scenic Area (inform the driver). The journey takes about 30 minutes and the fare is around 8 yuan. 2. Charter a car from Fenghuang Ancient Town, which takes about 15 minutes.
