Introduction

Located at the foot of Zhamashan Mountain on the north bank of the Yarlung Zangbo River in Zhanang County, Shannyesi Temple is known as the "first temple in Tibet". It is the first temple in the history of Tibetan Buddhism to possess the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. When it was founded, Master Lianhuasheng selected the birthplace of Tibetan King Chisong Dezan for its location, and Chisong Dezan personally oversaw the laying of the foundation. The architectural style of Shannyesi Temple still retains the original design of Master Jihua, and after several hundred years and numerous storms, it is still a key cultural relic under national protection. Visitors can climb to the top of the Haiburishan Mountain next to Shannyesi Temple in the morning and evening to enjoy the beautiful scenery and photograph the natural beauty and Buddhist cultural heritage of the entire temple and the Yarlung Zangbo River.
