Introduction

- As one of the three major sacred lakes in Tibet, Yamdrok Lake, along with Mapam Yumco and Namtso, is revered as a natural treasure. In the hearts of the Tibetan people, it is like "a turquoise earring scattered by a goddess", evoking a deep sense of awe and reverence. - When viewed from the Gangbala Pass, Yamdrok Lake exhibits different shades of blue at different times, creating a rich variety of colors. This is due to the snow water from the surrounding Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, and the changing light causes the lake to display a myriad of blue hues. - Not far from Gangbala Snow Mountain lies a lakeside road which visitors can stroll or camp along. Mere contemplation of the lake's beauty in this peaceful setting is the best way to experience the allure of Yamdrok Lake.
