Introduction

During the era of Suharto, the Eagle God Square in Kuta Bay planned to erect the tallest eagle statue in the world, symbolizing the protection of the highest Balinese god, Wisnu. It was rumored that a high monk had predicted that the completion of the statue would bring prosperity and peace to Indonesia. Unfortunately, this costly and ambitious project was only partially completed with the form of the "destructive god" and eagle, and was abandoned due to Suharto's downfall. Today, tourists can still admire the spectacular sight of this "unfinished product".
