Introduction
The Yungang Grottoes Museum, designed by architect Cheng Dapeng, is located in the western scenic protection area of Yungang Grottoes in Datong city and is an important sub-project of the whole reconstruction plan of the scenic area. The museum consists of an exhibition hall and a multi-functional performance center (reconstructed on the site of the ancient city ruins). Its design features a single unit arch form arrangement with a width of 4 meters and a span of 40 meters. The exhibition hall is a single-layer, large span space with a depth of 6 meters underground and a highest point above ground of 5.8 meters. The performance center is located to the south and is built on the foundation of the original ancient city ruins. Address Yungang Grottoes Scenic Area in Datong, Shanxi province
