The Miaofa Zen Temple is located in the Lvwu Temple area of Donghe District, Baotou City. It is the most famous ancient temple of Han Buddhism in Inner Mongolia. It was built by Master Xuzhou in the late Xianfeng years of the Qing Dynasty and expanded in the fifth year of Tongzhi (1866), establishing its scale. The Miaofa Zen Temple, also known as the "Lvwu Temple", is the leading scenic spot in the Beiliang Tourism Development Zone of Donghe District. It is surrounded by Christian churches, Catholic churches, Islamic mosques, and other religious sites, occupying an excellent Fengshui location. The Miaofa Zen Temple currently has a mountain gate (Heavenly King Hall), Lvwu Hall, Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, Merit Hall, Ksitigarbha Hall, Ancestor Hall, Zen Hall, and Thousand Buddha Hall. Among them, Lvwu Hall is a building remaining from the Qing Dynasty. Among the many halls, the most distinctive one is the Thousand Buddha Hall in the South Yard. The grand hall is majestic and solemn, with nearly a thousand hanging Buddha statues inside, making it a unique sight. There are a constant stream of pilgrims here, and the ancient temple coexists harmoniously with the modern commercial district.
