Located in the center of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, this city is famous for being a northern water town and an ancient canal city. It is also one of the best preserved cities during the anti-Japanese war. Tourists can take a boat tour of the entire city, and the ancient canal from the Ming and Qing dynasties is the only ancient oriental water town in China. The city has a diverse architectural style, each with its own unique charm. Tourists can see buildings from different regions, including the folk houses of Shandong, the courtyard houses of the north, the Huizhou-style architecture, and the Hakka-style architecture. At night, the ancient city is illuminated by the lights, making it beautiful to behold. If you stay in the ancient city for a night, you can enjoy the night view and have a drink at a bar.

Transportation
Zaozhuang Station has high-speed trains running between Beijing South Station, Shanghai Hongqiao, Tianjin West Station, Nanjing South Station, Jinan West Station, Qingdao Station, Hangzhou Station, and Xuzhou East Station. Tourists from the aforementioned areas can choose the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway for convenient travel. Zaozhuang West Station has trains passing through major provincial capitals both within and outside Shandong Province.
