Guangming Port Qiongtian Teahouse
Located diagonally opposite the Shambhala Hotel on Tibetan Hospital Road (near Beijing Middle Road). Recommended food: sweet tea, Tibetan noodles. You need to get your own cup, find a good spot, and place 1 yuan next to the cup, then someone will come to pour tea. The environment is not very good, but this is how real teahouses in Tibetan areas are.
Lhasa Namaste Restaurant (Yutuo Road Branch)
Recommended food: Yogurt cake, Nepalese sweet tea, potato beef, Masala chicken with naan. Tibet is close to Nepal, and potato beef is a very famous dish. Their yogurt cake is very delicious. I find the lamb chops to be average, so you can skip them. Masala chicken with naan is basically bread with tomato beef sauce. Remember to dip the bread in the sauce. It's also called tomato beef sauce flatbread.
Gangdise Tibetan and Nepalese Restaurant
Recommended: Glutinous Rice Cake, Highland Barley Wine, Seafood Fried Rice. Mainly features Glutinous Rice Cake and Highland Barley Wine, not to be missed. This restaurant offers a variety of cuisines, although it is a Nepalese restaurant, it also serves Korean and Japanese dishes. It's incredibly diverse and should be called fusion cuisine.
Zheng Mo Fang
Recommended: Highland barley soy milk, braised meat bun, mushroom bun. The highland barley soy milk is incredibly delicious and a must-try. The signature braised meat bun is also excellent, though the buns are quite expensive.
