Introduction
Shennong Stream, also known as the Yandu River, is the first tributary of the Yangtze River to emerge from the Wu Gorge and enter the Xiangxi Wide Valley. It is known as the "pearl of Western Hubei" and is approximately 60 kilometers long, divided into four natural sections: Longchang Gorge, Yingwu Gorge, Shennong Gorge, and Jinzhu Gorge, all of which are picturesque. The riverbank is lush with vegetation, sweet with the scent of mountain flowers, and filled with playful monkeys, yellow goats and deer, flying swallows and swimming fish, giving people a sense of tranquility and the beauty of the mountains and wilderness.
The most unique activity on Shennong Stream is its bamboo rafting, using flatboats resembling "pea pods". Once on board one of these charming and rustic boats, floating leisurely in the clear blue waters and serene canyon, listening to birdsong and boatmen's song, you can experience the joy of being away from the noisy world with carefree abandon.
