The Octagonal Building is located in Maoping Village, 36 kilometers away from Ciping. It is a two-story adobe structure named after its octagonal skylight decoration. From October 1927 to February 1929, Mao Zedong lived here and wrote glorious works such as "Why the Red Political Power Can Exist in China". The building now displays items such as the large inkstone, bamboo tube iron lamp, and other objects used by Mao Zedong at that time.

The restaurant is located near the scenic area and is quite famous. We came here because of its reputation. The place is spacious and offers many local specialties. One of them is Azalea Flower Fried Eggs, which has a light taste. Azalea flowers themselves don't have much flavor, it's mainly the aroma of eggs. The Mao-style Braised Pork is also delicious, well-marinated. Besides, they also serve various stir-fried dishes and soups. Though not particularly stunning, the taste is still good.

The Fairy Lake Scenic Area is a national key scenic area located in Xinyu City, western Jiangxi Province. It is named after the mythological legend of the "Mao Yi Girl" from Gan Bao's book "In Search of the Supernatural". The Fairy Lake is located at the intersection of two tourist routes in Jiangxi Province, "Sanqingshan-Longhushan-Nanchang-Fairy Lake-Pingxiang" and "Lushan-Poyang Lake-Nanchang-Fairy Lake-Jinggangshan-Ganzhou", enjoying a superior location. The Fairy Lake Scenic Area is divided into five parts: the Wulong Lake Scenic Area, Zhongshan Gorge Scenic Area, Qianyang Lake Scenic Area, Dagangshan Scenic Area, and Jiulong Bay Scenic Area. It is rich in cultural landscapes such as ancient karst caves, ancient buildings, underwater ancient cities, ancient tombs, stone carvings, ancient classics, revolutionary historical sites, and fishing village customs. Here, the earliest mythological legends recorded in the book "Tian Xian Pei", the first scholar of Jiangxi Province, Lu Zhao, the Ming Dynasty's prime minister Yan Song, the ancient masterpiece of technology "Tiangong Kaiwu", and the modern master of traditional Chinese painting, Fu Baoshi, were born. The climate here is pleasant, with a typical subtropical climate. The Fairy Lake enjoys four distinct seasons, abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall, a long frost-free period, and an average annual temperature of around 17℃. The scenery here is beautiful, and the greatest feature of the Fairy Lake is the harmonious combination of green mountains, clear waters, and the reflection of the sky in the water. There are more than 230 plant families and over 3000 species, including over 200 rare tree species, with a forest coverage rate of over 95%. The water quality meets the surface water Grade II standard, with visibility of more than 2 meters. The good ecological environment nurtures numerous animals, including 37 species of mammals such as deer, foxes, and monkeys, and 39 species of birds such as eagles, falcons, geese, egrets, and doves. At dawn and dusk, you can witness the beautiful scene of hundreds of birds flying among the lake and mountains, creating a harmonious paradise for humans, animals, and nature.
