Rhinos are huge and strange-looking animals, known as "land tanks" and "armored warriors", and they are the second largest terrestrial wild animals in the world. Yunnan Wildlife Park has been preparing for the introduction of rhinos since early 2009. After two years of operation, South Africa agreed to allow Yunnan Wildlife Park to introduce rhinos and establish a population. In order to feed the rhinos well, Yunnan Wildlife Park has twice gone to Johannesburg, South Africa to study rhino feeding techniques, understand the temperament of rhinos, and establish a preliminary bond with the rhinos. In July 2010, Zhang Jian, the director of the Animal Hospital of Yunnan Wildlife Park, went to Johannesburg to welcome the rhinos to Kunming.
