Introduction

The first floor of the Regional Museum showcases exhibits related to Mexico's pre-Spanish period, archaeological sites, and the lives of indigenous people during the Spanish occupation. The upstairs exhibition showcases the role that Queretaro played in the independence movement and in the history after independence. In 1848, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed here, which ended the Mexican-American War.
