"Game of Thrones" breathtaking filming location - magical Sovilla

The city of Essaouira, known as the City of the Wind, is located right next to the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can not only enjoy delicious seafood and feel the cool sea breeze from the Atlantic, but also taste the "flavor of power" - in "Game of Thrones", Morocco contributed to the filming of the Slaver's Bay region where the power of the Dragon Mother rises. The towns of Astapor and Yunkai in the series were filmed in Essaouira and Ait Benhaddou village respectively.

Launched in the second half of the 18th century, Puerto de Sóller used to be the busiest port among different continents. Nowadays, it has come to an end while the ancient walls are still guarding history. This place also served as a filming location for the city of Astapor in Game of Thrones.

The fortress is square-shaped and offers views of the Atlantic from all sides. Skarholt is the Bay of Slaves where Daenerys Targaryen absorbed the Unsullied army in "Game of Thrones".

Ayt Benhadu

Located in southern Morocco, Ait Ben Haddou is known as the "most beautiful village in Morocco". It is a must-visit stop on the way to the Sahara and boasts magnificent earthen buildings that have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also the filming location for Yunkai, a city in Game of Thrones.
