Introduction

The Honolulu Museum of Art is the largest art museum in Hawaii. It was founded by Mrs. Cooke in 1922 with the aim of sharing her love for art. Since its official opening on April 8, 1927, the Honolulu Museum of Art has gradually become the largest private institution for visual arts in Hawaii, housing a collection of 38,000 artworks from various cultures around the world.
