Introduction

Mission District is one of the oldest districts in San Francisco, founded in 1776 by Franciscan missionaries. At that time, they hoped to change the beliefs of the indigenous people. However, with the influx of many Latin American political refugees and immigrants in the 1960s, the area gradually transformed into a place with a strong Latin flavor. Spanish signs and advertisements can be seen throughout the streets, but communicating in English is also not a problem. The best culinary experience is undoubtedly tasting Latin American cuisine, especially the authentic dishes sold at street food carts, all of which are worth trying.
