Introduction

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, located in Turin, Italy, is one of the most important churches in Turin and the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Turin. It was built in the late 15th century and is adjacent to a Romanesque bell tower, with a dome height of 64 meters. The church is famous for housing the Shroud of Turin, but modern research has shown that this holy relic was created after the year 1300 and is not actually from the time of Jesus. Nevertheless, there is still great interest in this relic, and the church holds exhibitions periodically, though making reservations and queuing can be quite difficult. In general, the Shroud of Turin is kept at the Museum of the Holy Shroud.
