Introduction

Here, you can explore the rich art and historical development of Venice. The museum was founded by Teodoro Correr in 1830 and began collecting various donations. With the increase of gifts, purchases, and donations, the museum's collection quickly grew, becoming a valuable and diverse collection for the Museum of Venetian Folklore. The history of the museum can be traced back to the Napoleonic era, when this neoclassical palace became the Venetian-style royal palace of the French and Italian kings after the decline of the Venetian Republic in 1797. In the spacious and solemn halls, Venetian civilization and a variety of ancient art collections are showcased.
